pregnancy, your oral health is important for both
yours & your baby. Regular Dental check up & cleaning
during pregnancy is beneficial to prevent any gum
problem or what is commonly called as
‘pregnancy gingivitis’. This is caused by increase
accumulation of plaque because of the increased
hormone levels. According to the ADA, its the
plaque not your hormone that causes it.The gums may
bleed easily when brushing your teeth and at times swollen.
It’s very important to maintain good health, good
oral hygiene and to keep a balance diet.
There are 3 tips that we can give you to avoid
pregnancy gingivitis.
1. Healthy & balance diet
Eating green & colorful vegetables, protein, and
nutritious foods like food rich with vitamins &
minerals that contains vitamin A, B, C, D and
Calcium is highly recommended for you & your baby.
What you eat can affect your baby’s development
including the teeth. The first 2 trimester, your baby’s
teeth are starting to develop.
2. Brush 2x a day for 2 minutes and floss regularly
and carry a tooth brush.
3. Go t the dentist regularly.
